Roku Streambar stuck in a recovery mode

My Roku Streambar is stuck in Recovery Mode.

It has been working well for two years, same connections, same wifi. I noticed the front LED was glowing orange, so I turned on the TV to find that it was in Recovery Mode.

Selected English, WiFi connection, added password. It downloads an update and restarts. Then you see a "don't unplug while we update." Then it goes back to the Recovery Mode page.

I unplugged it overnight, but it still does that on restart. I held down reset for 30s, still on recovery mode. I tried in French. I switched to a different wireless network. All no good.

On the Recovery page, I have the version 9.3.0 * 1060 and Roku 9102R.

Any better ideas?

  • I have been in Recovery Mode for 5 days.  It is stuck.  How do I get past this screen?

      My streambar 9102r is stuck in recovery mode. I tried the reset everything, ended reconfiguring sverything, still stuck.

  • My Roku streambar pro has been stuck in recovery mode for about a week. I can’t control anything on that recovery screen. Doesn’t connect to tv or play sound.
    Any known fixes?

  • I’m having issues with streambar pro stuck in recovery mode. Posted about this a few weeks back and never got an email from Roku like others are saying they have been. It’s registered to my account and here’s the info that’s showing up on my screen:

    I’d really appreciate some help, it’s been well over a month since it’s worked and I want to be able to use it again so bad lol

        I have the exact same issue on the Roku Sound bar; exact same model as many describe. The system requires language selection, wifi connectivity and goes to update progress only to return to step 1. 


  • Having the same problem with my streambar. My apps kept going black, closing out and going back to my Home Screen, so I reset my streambar and have been stuck in recovery mode for the past 6 hours. I tried resetting it with the reset button and unplugging the power, but no luck. I wouldn’t suggest buying a new one since this seems like a Roku software problem. They need to fix this.

      Please be aware that we are currently aware of this, and our engineering team has been investigating this issue closely.

      In this case, kindly provide us with the following information so we can include your device in the process of investigation:

      • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and current software version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
      • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)

  • My StreamBar started rebooting and eventually wen into recovery mode, and now just repeats the cycle, no matter what I do.

    I've tried everything suggested in this thread, and posted there, but I don't think it's monitored any more. So I hope someone can help me.

  •  So I got a Hisense Roku 43" 43R6G TV that I got from Aug 2023. I use it normally. Last time I used it was last night. But this morning, it suddenly stopped working, like it won't bootup. Tried anything that I've on the internet including your website. Tried Software Update via recovery mode, it does say 100% on the software update but still on the bootloop and it'll take me back to the recovery screen. Also tried updating with the help of USB stick, but still failed. Even tried reseting it by pressing the small button at the back of the television but it'll still take me on the recovery mode. So my last resort is contacting you guys. Hope you can help me out. Attached below is my device details. Thankyou 

  • I’m on a loop with the purple recovery mode screen and grey screen that has the onn.Roku TV logo. I have tried all sorts of things listed. How do I give you guys my information without displaying it. And anybody figure this out yet?
