Remote power level keeps flashing on screen

Jump to solution

My RC-MC1 remote is a rechargeable device. It works the system fine, but recently has started flashing its power level on the screen every 10 seconds or so. No idea why. It has no obvious damage. When I go to settings I don't have the option to "forget device".

Hi @jodola,

Thanks for keeping us updated!

Have you tried doing a system restart and pairing your Roku Voice Remote Pro again to see if the issue persists? If not, we highly recommend doing a system restart by navigating to Home and then going to Settings > System > System Restart. Once you've done this step, press and hold the pairing button at the back of your Roku remote for 30 seconds, then press again for 5 seconds when a green light starts blinking. Wait to see a prompt for the remote pairing.

Please let us know how it works.

All the best,
Kash

Hi @Lazerloss1

Thanks for reaching out to the Roku Community.

Have you tried re-pairing the remote and see if it helps? To do this, follow the steps below.

Put your streaming device in pairing mode:

  1. Remove the power cable from your streaming device
  2. Wait at least 5 seconds
  3. Re-connect the power cable
  4. Wait for your streaming device to power on, and the Home screen to appear on your TV screen
  5. Within 30 seconds of seeing the Home screen on your TV screen, put your voice remote into pairing mode

Put your voice remote in pairing mode:

  1. Press and hold the pairing button on your voice remote for 20 seconds. The status light should slowly flash green, stop, and then flash rapidly. When this happens, release the pairing button and your remote will restart.
  2. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash. If the light does not flash, charge your remote.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds while the remote establishes a connection with your streaming device.

Once your streaming device and remote are connected, the pairing dialog will appear on your TV screen. And then observe if you still get the problem after.

Keep us posted.

This didn't work. The remote is fully charged and the icon pops up every fifteen seconds! It's crazy annoying

Hi everyone! @RUSSELL40 @Lazerloss1 @RokuNimfa-C @Anotherusergeez

am facing the same issue with my Roku voice remote pro that came with the Roku ultra recently purchased directly from Roku.

I have attempted recharging and repairing but nothing works.

Have you received any feedback or resolution to your issue from Roku Support?

Thanks!

These steps do not work to fix the problem described.

The problem is the remote is repairing over and over.  It DOES pair.  It just drops and repairs over and over.  This takes about a 5 or second loop.  Remote works, then doesn't, then flashes a few times on the back, then the battery icon shows on the screen.  Over and Over - in about a 5 second loop.

We've done these steps and other steps to reset the device several times.   They do not work.
