My new Roku stick will not fit my TV. I've tried to request a Roku Extender but every time I fill in the information it tells me to try again. I've filled in all the information correctly including the serial number. What do I need to do? This is pretty useless if I can't even connect to the TV.

I cannot claim the free HDMI Extender. I tried many times to fill out the form, but always got an error stating "We're sorry. We are unable to process your order. Please try again." I've tried on different browsers between my phone and my computer.
I just tried again and now it is saying "Oops, something is wrong. We are not able to process your order at this moment. This may be due to a bad serial number or multiple orders of extenders." However, I have not gotten a single confirmed order.
Roku Streaming Stick 4k: S08Y41DTTTLS (This is the serial number on the back of the stick. I tried going through settings but that gave an error telling me to use the SN from the back of the stick.

I think your Roku has either two serial numbers, or there must have been an error in the numbering during the manufacturing of the device units. Or maybe during distribution and/or shipment of your device unit.
As for the free HDMI extender claim, other users have also had this same exact problem. Most likely an issue with the Roku ordering system.
Perhaps someone at Roku, or one of the Community Streaming Experts like AvsGunnar can help you with this situation.

I did my homework in the Community with no luck in having the form take my information (0 vs O, clearing cache, etc).
I have purchased 4 Roku’s, 4K streaming stick, and I only need one extender for a smaller TV.
Can a Roku Colleague help? Thanks

There's nothing special about the Roku HDMI extension, it's just a short (4 inches or so) HDMI cord with an HDMI plug at one end and an HDMI socket at the other. I use one several feet long to locate my Streaming Stick in an equipment closet on the other side of the wall from my TV. You may be able to find an HDMI extension locally and not have to wait for someone to ship it to you.

Hi djengels,
Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community!
If this issue is not resolved with claiming the free HDMI, can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device and the exact error message when trying to claim for the free HDMI?
Once we have this information, I'll be able to pass it along to our Support team who can assist you further.
Best regards,

I am having this issue for a Roku Streaming Stick 4K Serial Number S08Y41CM0DJS. I have tried to get the extender in multiple browsers, and I cannot get the form to work.

I am having the same problem with my new Stick fitting the TV due to the HDMI ports being located on the rear of the TV... What is the solution to getting an extender? I tried to find a number to call for assistance... No luck.

Hello Dant1
Thanks for the post.
For clarification, are you experiencing issues claiming a free HDMI extender? Do you receive an error message?
When you're inputting the serial number in the form, ensure to put zeros instead of the letter O. Please note as well that the numbers at the back of your Roku stick are referred to as the Device ID. To know your device's exact serial number, navigate to Settings > System > About.
Let us know how it goes!
All the best,

Do you have a Roku Stick? What happens if you connect the Roku Stick directly to your television?
If your Roku Stick shows an error message on your TV screen, you may need to check if the device is connected directly to a USB port on your TV. Error messages wouldn’t occur if the device is connected through a wall outlet nor a power strip.

They're probably out of stock. Instead of waiting until its back in stock, make your own. Get hdmi coupler, usually sold in pairs, add it to the end of a hdmi cable, now you have hdmi extender.

I am unable to order the free HDMI extensor cable from my.roku.com/HDMI. Every time I put my information and continue, it pops an error saying that they are unable to process my request right now. I looked in the forum and read that it may be an error with the browser, but I tried many different browser (chrome, edge and even firefox on troubleshooting mode) but it's always giving me the same error, and I'm making sure all the information is right, including the Serial Number on the back of the stick. I just received my Roku streaming stick 4K but I cannot plug it into my TV because of the HDMI position. What can I do to get the extended HDMI?

I also bought a stick and it came today. I am having lots of trouble getting the HDMI extender for free from ROKU. I even tried going to device settings and finding the serial number. In addition, the number on box does not work either. It is a new stick. I don't know why I am having trouble getting a HDMI extender.
- Michelle3Roku Guru
As was stated by @makaiguy, there is nothing special about the official Roku HDMI extender; it’s only 3-4 inches or so. You’re better off buying an extender from Best Buy, Amazon or Walmart that is way longer than the Roku extender. In fact, I’d recommend a compact Roku box over a Stick any day.

I have tried repeatedly to fill out this Roku HDMI Extender Cable form, but it remains down. I have 3 Roku sticks an NEED 2 extenders. Yes, I could purchase them, but each Roku states the extenders are free. So, why not include one with each player purchase instead of making it impossible to obtain them online. Ultimately,Roku this is frustrating for the valued customer; and, in fact, insulting to make this process impossible to resolve. I do believe Roku is better than this obvious obstacle to obtain a needed part and they ought to do so in a timely and efficient manner.

I have tried to fill out the form for an HDMI extender many times. I keep getting message that either serial number is incorrect or I ordered too many. I have tried the serial number from the back of the streaming stick and the number provided online in my account. Neither works! Help!!

The free HDMI extender for Roku Streaming Stick is still available. To claim a free HDMI extender, please ensure that you enter the serial number and not the device ID. Do you receive an error when trying to place an order? Did you put the serial number of the device on the form?
For reference, here is how you can find the serial number from the Setting menu, go to Settings > System > About > Serial Number. Lastly, make sure to use the number "zero" instead of the letter "O" when inputting your serial number into the form.
If you are still having any issues, please provide your Roku device's serial number so we can assist further.
Regards,
NimfaI had the same problem but was inputting what I thought was the serial number, which was on the back of the stick. It turns out that Roku is calling this number the 'Device ID Number'. The serial number is different, as pointed out by Nimfa. I was able to complete the form and it was not rejected. A few minutes later I got a confirmation email saying that the cable will be shipped in three days.
However in speaking to a Roku rep some weeks prior I was told that the cable was no longer available so we will see if it shows up. I am hoping the cable comes with male and female connectors and is not the standard male-male HDMI cable, which won't work.
Best wishes - Draegoch

Thank you for the very helpful post and information.
I have given up on ever getting the extender cable. I purchased one on amazon but it did not help with the overheating problem.
I ordered a Power cable for the RoKU Streaming Stick+ from Roku and it had the power cube that I needed to test with. So far plugging it into the AC outlet and not USB seems to have fixed the overheating Problem with the Samsung M7 Monitor /TV..
