Can’t reconnect Roku because physical remote with purchase was broken

When I got my roku the remote was broken but I never reached out to have it replaced because I downloaded the app. Now I have a new internet connection, but according to the responses on this forum I can’t reconnect my Roku to the internet without a physical remote. There is no contact number on the website so I can’t speak to anyone, but I am not sure how to get this resolved.

    Voice remote erratic volume

Recently bought a 4k streaming stick for a new tv. Setup was easy per usual but the TV volume and power control both work erratically, the volume button may take it up 1 number or 10 . No rhyme or reason, and sometimes not work at all. Power button as well. I’ve re paired it, changed from IR to CEC. If I repair via CEC it will work correctly immediately after but after not using it for awhile it starts again. Repairing the remote constantly has made me regret this purchase entirely. I have many Roku TV’s and several express deals without tv control. Never an issue with any of those. And I can’t pair a different remote to that stick given I have probably 6-7 because it’s unique being a voice control remote .

Roku remote automatically add an app

Last week it was Apple TV, this week it’s Disney +. I don’t have either one, but since we got 2 new rechargeable Roku remotes they both randomly go to the page where it says to click here to add the app and then it’s freezes. None of the buttons will work except the voice. I say home or settings and it says “thinking” then it won’t leave that page. Turned the stub off and back on and it’s still stuck on that page. I did find a fix where you have to push a bunch of different buttons which does cause Roku to reset and then it’s fine. But why is it even happening when no one pushed the button to add the app to begin with? Again it only started happening when we got the new rechargeable remotes.

Remote Pro 2: Buttons delay response issue

Within the last couple of weeks my remote pro ver. 2 has become very unresponsive, but not totally unresponsive. What I mean is... I am having to push a button 2, 3, 4 times or more every time I want to switch apps or switch channels within an app. It's very aggravating. I've already re-paired the remote, but that did not solve the problem. Having a full charge does not make it any better. Anything else I can try to fix this?

Constant Voice Remote Pro battery warnings, Even when charged.

We have an RC 880 voice remote pro purchased about a year ago. In the last couple of months I've started getting low battery warnings flashing on the TV screen, often followed a few seconds later by another indication that the battery is charged. Sometimes it will go back and forth several times saying low battery, then for example 75% charged, then low battery again... I have tried (4 times) resetting the remote by pressing and holding the power and back buttons. I've rebooted the TV. Read a couple dozen similar reports here, and tried all the troubleshooting tips on the Roku help pages. There are no other remotes paired with the TV. Because of the conflicting battery level messages on the screen, seems like a bug in the remote software, or defective wiring, sensor, or battery. Whatever it is, it's very annoying, and not something I would expect from relatively new OEM top of the line (and rather pricey) device. Roku support: what can be done? Thanks! Some data collected: Batterylevel 76% Firmware version rtn.4302 Voice capture FW en_US, 0039 Name Voice RemotePro Model RC880 ------ For the TV: Hisense model 6Series-75 Hardware ID G213X Software version 14.6 build 4.9916-CH 6Series-75 -----

Encountering an error on Roku Ultra when using an RF remote

Same problem. Just got a new Roku Ultra. But I don't want to use the remote - I have a Universal Remote MX-450 that runs everything. For example the amp is in the basement, and I use RF signals to change the volume, and IR for everything else. I set up the Roku on the 450, and had it learn a few keys that weren't pre-programmed. Everything is working fine. But the Roku doesn't like that I'm using an IR remote, so it keeps giving the "For a better experience, try pairing your remote again" error, with "pair now" and "do it later" options. We need a third option, "dismiss," which makes the pop-up go away forever. I don't want to use the included remote. I never will. And I don't need a reminder. I looked all over, but couldn't find a way to deactivate this in Options. Is it in there somewhere? This thread is 2 years old, so I'd hope there was some progress made since then.

The microphone button is no longer working

Hello. Recently my roku’s microphone stopped functioning. It says it can’t hear me. I tried new batteries, disconnecting the power cord, re-pairing - multiple times. Firmware is updated. Nothing interfering with the signal. Still not working. Please advise. Thanks.

Roku Remote RCB1R Unresponsive with Solid White Light or Solid Red Light

My Roku Voice Remote Pro, model RCB1R, becomes unresponsive at random times with a solid white light or a solid red light. This has happened with both the original remote and replacement remote. I have tried resetting the remote and repairing the remote, but the issue continues to occur at random. Nothing seems to fix it except waiting an unknown amount of time for the lights to go away before the remote starts to work again. Others appear to have the same problem: https://community.roku.com/discussions/tv-and-players/solid-white-light---roku-voice-remote-pro-2nd-edition/1090153 https://community.roku.com/discussions/tv-and-players/roku-rechargeable-remote-no-response-or-freezes/1089742 https://community.roku.com/discussions/tv-and-players/roku-rechargeable-remote-no-response-or-freezes/1089742 Is there any known cause or fix for this problem?

Quick buttons should confirm before switching to that app to avoid accidental app switching

The remote typically comes with 4 app-specific buttons for different streaming services. While they can be handy to have, they can also be problematic since it's so easy for them to be pressed mistakenly. This can be because you accidentally press them or even the remote falls on the floor and then the Roku switches to the other app. Obviously, this can cause a lot of problems and dissatisfaction with the product. If instead you had to do a second action, like pressing the app button a 2nd time or pressing ok, accidental activation of the button would not cause such headaches. A single press of the button would not cause the app to switch, which is the source of many of the complaints. Many of the frustrations would go away if the button didn't switch the app immediately. The instant app switch may also cause ill-will towards the services on the buttons, especially those that aren't subscribed to or don't exist anymore. The frustration experienced when the app switches to some random service may cause people to transfer that frustration to the app itself. If instead the button needed to be pressed twice, I would think most people would hardly be bothered by a single accidental press even if it put up a confirmation on the screen. A confirmation would mean there would be no need for the destructive remote modifications often mentioned to deal with this the app-switching problem, such as pulling the buttons out of the remote, taping over the buttons, opening the remote and disabling the electrical contacts, etc.

IR Remote not connecting to the Roku Express

Roku Remote Model: 3026000066 Roku Express Model: 3930X I have factory rest the express and gotten stuck at the restart page with languages and the light is white blinking one, two and then one. I have check to see if the remote works and I clearly see it doing the test with a camera. I have replace the batteries. I have reset the remote by holding the home and back buttons, nothing happens (i get closer in distance and still nothing happens). I have tried holding them for 1,2,3,4,5 seconds at a time just to see if it’ll help. I still can’t get the remote to connect with the express and I need help?
