Can’t connect remote to stick after factory reset
I purchased a Roku express online and it didn’t come with a remote so I bought a Roku voice remote since it said it can connect to most Roku streaming devices. It won’t pair the remote without the device being connected to WiFi so I have no way of getting past the select language screen. The remote is brand new and the batteries work since it lights up into pairing mode when I put them in.Any help would be great11Views0likes1CommentThe Roku remote needs repairs 2-3 times before functioning properly and has recurring issues.
I purchased the latest version of Roku ultra. I thought this was a great rechargeable remote, won't have to worry about batteries. The remote only works part time. I have to re-pair two or three times everyday. Customer support is clueless. They tell me how to re-pair.I already know how to do that. It doesn't fix the problem. So they send me the Pro 2 version. Same thing, this remote has the same problem. So, their suggestion is I buy a third remote. That's not happening. I'm throwing Roku in the trash an going with something that really works.33Views1like1CommentRoku Remote constantly disconnects
The remote I have affiliated with my Roku ultra 2022 constantly disconnects multiple times daily. I have been sent a replacement from Roku directly but it is just the same. This has worked for a long long time and all of a sudden has decided not to connect. I don't know if it is the Roku unit itself or the remote but it is an extreme struggle to reconnect it. I have not changed any of the settings or the television. All software is up-to-date. I have powered down my wireless and rebooted my network any number of times. I have also restarted the Roku unit. None of this works Extremely frustrating and I am angry. I have another unit in another room and it works perfectly. I have not dropped this remote nor broken it in any way. It is the same as the one that originally came with the unit in that it constantly constantly disconnects. The only way I can reconnect it is to hold the connection button down for a long time until it stops blinking. software for the remote is up-to-date. Battery is 95%. Firmware version is rtn.4246. Voice capture FW is en_US.0024 Voice Remote Model is RC795. I reside in the United States. This has been going on for well over three months. I have no other remote or peripherals attached. TV is an LG and software is up-to-date for it as well.. The remote itself is perfectly charged. What is going on? I love my Roku players but this is intolerable. this seems to be common issue. I've had the Roku for only about a year. Wondering if I should order a third party remote instead of the Roku one, which according to the multitude of posts clearly has this issue as a common problem. I may take mine apart and check the ground wire, as I read in a previous post. as a former Battery Quality Assurance Engineer who used to work in the NEC laptop division, this seems like a serious common flaw in Roku Remotes. I see no resolution. The reset procedures do not work. Re-powering the Roku device also doesn't work. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? You can get 3rd party replacement remotes on Amazon, has anyone tried them? FrustratedSolved1KViews0likes10CommentsNo more headphone jack on Roku Ultra's voice remote pro 2
Very disappointed that the remote included with the top-of-the-line Roku player does NOT have a headphone jack. Being able to plug headphones directly into the remote is a key feature that we use everyday to maintain sanity in our household. So now I'm supposed to pay another $30 to get a remote that still has the headphone jack. Bad move, Roku. No, I don't want to have to use an app on my phone to use headphones!Solved2.5KViews6likes12CommentsRemote doesn't work with any other batteries
Roku remotes have always been a pain in the ass to pair and use. I got this Roku 4k around October 2024, and the remote stopped working last night. I've been through all the forums and Reddit **bleep** and non of it has helped. I've tried different AA batteries and non worked until I put the original roku batteries it came with back in... it definitely is not solving the problem but it made it so I can still use the remote although it glitches now. In the remote settings it says the battery is at 27% but it has said 16% and 24% before, it just keeps fluctuating. I am so sick of Roku remotes being like this. And I am not going out to buy Roku brand batteries. PLEASE FIX THIS. Because I'm about on my last straw with Roku remotes. Thanks ~60Views1like3Comments
