Roku Remote RCB1R Unresponsive with Solid White Light or Solid Red Light

Question

My Roku Voice Remote Pro, model RCB1R, becomes unresponsive at random times with a solid white light or a solid red light. This has happened with both the original remote and replacement remote.

I have tried resetting the remote and repairing the remote, but the issue continues to occur at random. Nothing seems to fix it except waiting an unknown amount of time for the lights to go away before the remote starts to work again.

Is there any known cause or fix for this problem?

Having this very same issue for the past 2 months with my Voice Remote Pro that I bought in June to replace another Voice remote that stopped working after about a year.

Edit: I've just spent the better part of an hour with Roku Support chat noting all the troubleshooting steps. They're sending me a new remote.
