I don't know if removing the pop up is the solution. The reason it is popping up is because there is an issue with the remote itself. What they need to do is maybe have a separate notification indicating possible issues with the remote. The fact that it keeps giving me charge level on the remote is why they kept asking me if my remote was charged and giving me instructions on how to pair. The remote is continuously pairing with the base unit which is why it keeps popping up. Better remote and better error messages would be a good start.

Of course removing the pop up is the solution. If it doesn't exist it won't pop up when it isn't supposed to! And you think adding separate notifications for more things is a good idea? So it is even more pop ups occurring when they aren't supposed to? Worst idea ever! All the pop ups need to be removed from the software, period! Because these remotes are terrible and so is the software that runs on them, they will always malfunction.

I bought this remote maybe two weeks ago and am already having the same problem. It would be nice to not be “sent” to support, but rather you post a public update with a fix, either technically or monetarily. I paid almost $40 for a remote that has essentially un- usable after two weeks.
It seems as though the remote is being pulled every 5 seconds or so by the ruku device via the wi-fi. This looks like a code update issue why would a remote report it's battery level if it fine or is something more sinister going on? Did you know the ruku device powers itself back on at will.
I have always found that the community moderators Do a great job at relaying information regarding potential issues. Multiple customers are having with any Roku product. I always found this great because it allows Roku technicians to be made aware of issues as fast as possible...
I’ve been using Roku for years now and only once or twice have had an issue that i felt i couldn’t fix and needed help.
I found this community forum within minutes of lookin and within minutes. I had caring Roku users individuals working with me to resolve an issue, and if an issue couldn’t be resolved, they are able to pass these concerns Roku and the individuals with a higher degree of knowledge.
I’ve always valued being able to know there are Roku users and Roku community experts who are ready and willing to help anyone with a problem they are having With any of Roku devices
The one time I needed to speak to someone outside of this service I was able to do so as well In a timely manner as well, and they rectified the issue That I thought was very kind..

Update
Hi All Frustrated Users!,
Well, I decided to try again with a new 'Battery operated" remote and also ensured that I totally removed the old rechargeable unit out of range from the TV and "Walla", this a has resolved my remote/screen notices problems. I can only assume that the issue remains with the rechargeable remotes. I do however hope that Roku continues to research this problem and reissues a new improved version of the chargeable remote.
Happy Viewing!
George
How to fix it
Plug the remote into power.
Hold down the pairing button for 20 seconds (during holding down the remote light will start to flash. Keep holding and at the 20-second mark the light will turn off. The remote will then restart)
