Sorry to hear you are having issues with getting your bluetooth speaking set up on your Roku. No promises but I'll do my best to hopefully help you get to the bottom of this.

If your Roku Premiere isn't showing your Bluetooth speakers when trying to add a new device, it likely means your Roku isn't in pairing mode. Another reason you're having difficulties is because your Bluetooth devices might be too far away. It may very well not be but thought I'd mention it/

And lastly it could be interference from other wireless device.

Try putting your Roku into pairing mode by navigating to Settings > Remotes & devices > Add a new device, then ensure your Bluetooth speakers are turned on and in pairing mode, and move closer to your Roku to try again;.

Here are a few things to check:

  • Bluetooth enabled on your devices: Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on both your Roku and your Bluetooth speakers.
  • Pairing mode on Roku: Go to Settings > Remotes & devices > Add a new device to enter pairing mode on your Roku.
  • Check Bluetooth device visibility: Make sure your Bluetooth speakers are discoverable (in pairing mode).
  • Distance and interference: Try moving closer to your Roku and minimizing other wireless devices that might cause interference.
  • Restart your devices: Try restarting both your Roku and Bluetooth speakers.

If you're still having trouble:

  • Check for firmware updates: Ensure your Roku has the latest software update
  • Try a different Bluetooth device: Test with a different Bluetooth speaker to see if the issue is specific to one device.
  • Contact Roku support: If none of the above solutions work, reach out to Roku customer support for further assistance.

That All I can think of. Hopefully of these suggestions will work on your end. Let me know if you get your speakers up and running!

Re: roku premiere bluetooth on saids remote

To the best of my knowledge, the Premiere has never supported Bluetooth in any version. Only the Ultra (starting with the 4800) offers BT pairing to speakers or headphones. At least one model of Streambar also supports BT.

No Roku has used Bluetooth for the remote since the Roku 2 XS (3100) 14 years ago. So you will never see a Bluetooth device appear under the remote section.

Re: roku premiere bluetooth on saids remote

@bubbabuwie74-

Rokus generally are able to RECEIVE Bluetooth audio so you can send music from a phone or other external device to play on the Roku.

But only a few of the newer Roku units have the right chips to SEND audio via Bluetooth to headphones or external speakers

As of January 6, 2025, Roku lists these devices as having this capability:
• Roku Streambar SE
• Roku Streambar
• Roku Streambar Pro
• Roku Smart Soundbar
• Roku Ultra (models 4800, 4802, and 4850)
• Roku Ultra LT (model 4801)
• Roku Plus Series TV
• Roku Pro Series TV
See this Roku article for details and any updates: https://support.roku.com/article/12210854415383

Rokus other than the specific Roku models mentioned in that article are not equipped to send Bluetooth and this capability cannot be added by a software update. For them you must use the Roku Remote app on a phone or tablet, and connect the Bluetooth audio device to the phone/tablet.

Re: roku premiere bluetooth on saids remote

At first Roku devices were only able to receive bluetooth from cellphones and tablets. Roku wasn't a bluetooth transmitter. After an upgrade certain Roku models were able to transmit but only to bluetooth headphones, NO speakers. That is how it is now, no bluetooth speakers at all, sorry.  The only speakers it communicates with are Roku and Roku-Ready wifi-direct speakers. Wifi-direct is a different kind of RF than bluetooth.
