I thought your soundbar had a learning feature, so it can be taught the IR commands from whatever brand of tv you have. That's why you needed the IR Roku tv commands. Your rc-al4 remote didn't have soundbar volume commands only tv IR commands. But some Vizio soudbars can be controlled via Vizio tv commands. I have to assume when not all info is given. No, it has nothing to do with remote you use, your Roku tv UI will not allow you to program the volume keys for IR on a wifi remote. Sorry. You could get sideclick that attaches to your Roku remote and emits IR commands. A Roku Wifi remote like your RC-AL4 remote will pair to your Roku tv and control via Wifi signal including tv volume commands. You previous Roku Ultra wasn't a tv, so it had to control non-Roku tv's by IR. You can purchase an IR Roku tv remote for $10. It won't come with bells and whistles like the Voice Pro remote. Do you any old universal remotes, cable oem remotes or Directv oem remotes hanging around? Roku tvs use a very old tv code from the 90's. List what you have brand and model number, of these old remotes and not your tv model. Are you sure one of you might have picked up the simple Roku IR remote? Take the batteries out of the original remotes and get them out of that room for good. So, you have Roku tv, and it came with IR remote? Then there is nothing that can be done to program it, with IR remotes it either works or don't. Keys on remotes can go bad if used often. No actual Roku made Roku tv's have ever came with an IR remote, only named brands of Roku tv like from TCL, Insignia, Hisense and so on have come with oem IR Roku tv remotes. You would have to get in touch with manufacturer. Or, go to your local Walmart, you can buy new Roku tv IR remotes for $10. Or upgrade to Voice remote for $20.45Views2likes0Comments
