Are you sure one of you might have picked up the simple Roku IR remote? Take the batteries out of the original remotes and get them out of that room for good. Wifi remotes have microphone button, where an IR remote has a crescent moon key for sleep timer.
We already tossed those remotes out after removing the batteries. Then we paired the two remote one at a time. Making sure the other device was off. And then immediately labeled the remote so we couldn't mix them up. We have also tried removing the batteries. And popping them back in.
