Roku 4850X Ultra randomly freezes - restarts
I purchased a Roku Ultra from Amazon last week, October 8th, 2025. It arrived Friday, October 10th, 2025 and I set it up immediately, replacing my Roku Stick 4k. At some point, within the first couple hours, the picture froze while the sound continued for several seconds and then it restarted. That happened several times over the weekend. I looked on the internet for similar issues and fixes. I followed troubleshooting steps that included changing AC outlet, changing network ports, changing HDMI inputs, resetting my router and a factory reset of the Roku. It was not long before the issue continued. I am beyond frustrated. I started logging the restarts the first time it happened Monday, October 11th, 2025.

This has happened while in Netflix, Hulu, Prime and, most often, YouTube simply because I play a thunderstorm video whenever I'm not actively watching other programming. The Roku is using the provided power adapter and HDMI cable and a Cat 6e network cable to a Trendnet gigabit switch that connects to a Unifi network. This is the only device currently having any sort of issue on my A/V network.

Just a quick follow-up regarding your issue. Could you please perform a software update on your Roku device by going to Settings > System > Software Update? If your device is already up to date, please let us know the current software version you're running.
