Hopefully all our returned Rokus will get someone's attention. Sending mine back to Amazon this week.
Has anyone tried the non express version? I’m thinking of getting that one instead IF it has been confirmed to work with airplay.
The issue is: airplay will not connect as it will not accept the 4 digit pin code. when does the issue occur? every time I try it with an IOS or mac device. Ive tried 3 Iphones, all running different versions of IOS, mac version of OS is: Sonoma 14.6.1
OS-415-797, model 3941x2- roku express 4k+, serial x02200A7370s, software ver 14.0.4, build 12221-e4 GC ver 12.4.17, time stamp 2024-10-15T17:57:49Z
Its clearly an issue with Roku and Apple, as a windows laptop will connect fine. haven't tried android as I don't own one.
Now is there a developer working on this? do the other versions of Roku have the same issue?
Thanks

Hi,
I recently bought two Roku Express 4k's today as I had one in the living room since I wanted to expand on where I watch stuff. Airplay works with the first (2-year-old) Roku Express 4k but not with these new two (from today). Tested with 5 devices, it prompts a code for airplay, you type it in and say it is incorrect even though it is.
I've tried restarting the router, and the device. I factory reset the devices, tried a custom password (says the same), turned airplay on and off and more but no methods work.
To add on, every device is currently up to date

I’ve been trying to set up AirPlay to mirror my MacBook screen using a Roku Express 4K connected to my 27-inch BenQ monitor. AirPlay is enabled on the Roku, with the “Require Code” option set to “First Time Only.” When I attempt to extend the display from my MacBook, sure enough the "Roku Express 4K" appears in the list and when I select it, I’m prompted to enter the code displayed on the monitor. After entering the code, I get an “Incorrect code” message, and it keeps asking me to enter the code again. No code seems to be accepted, and using the password option doesn’t work either. Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Same issue here! I just brought a brand new Roku Express just because it has AirPlay and to my surprise it is not working. Probably if there is not an update by Roku I’ll probably return my device.
Also for me is the same story, the iOS device shows a window asking for the airplay code and it does not matter what you write, it keeps popping again and again.
Even HomeKit isn’t working. It only shows a window saying that the code is invalid
