Because of the ridiculous amount of ads, I want to upgrade paramount+ to paramount+ no ads. I just purchased the subscription a few days ago for a year at $59.99. When I go to upgrade, it indicates that it is going to charge me full price for another year, $119.00. So I lose a year subscription? It's not really an ugrade then is it?

How did you subscribe to your original subscription:
If you try to upgrade through anyone other than your current subscription service it will result in a new subscription, not an upgrade.
I signed up on the Roku. And I'm trying to upgrade on the Roku, but I don't want to pay twice for the same 1-year subscription.
I have only ever had one premium subscription through Roku (or any third party, for that matter). If Roku does not provide an upgrade path for its premium subscribers, that is one more factor in favor of subscribing directly with the channel via its website rather than through a third party.
