Voice remote pro not holding charge

My remote worked fine for about 2 months or so, held a charge for weeks on end. Now when I charge it it dies in 3 days.  I have used four different bases, four different charging cables, multiple plug-in points, anything else I could think of. Still lasts 3 days.  Any help would be appreciated. I have held the pairing button down for 15 seconds and re paired it with the TV, still 3 days.  Seems like the battery is shot.

  • I had this same problem and then I decided to pry the remote open and unplug the battery from the chipset entirely.. I unplugged it and replugged it a few times and a few of those times I plugged the charger in just to see what would pop up on the screen. After a few times of doing this it actually started to charge again. I'm not even sure what the problem was.. maybe there was some dirt in the 3pin connector for the battery.. maybe the pins popped out and weren't seated correctly after the remote had taken some abuse..

I'm not sure. I would guess the last one though. I guess it makes sense that the pins could pop out. There's really nothing holding them in place besides friction. By that I mean there's no clip to hold the connection down. If anyone tries this and it works, let me know!

  • I have the exact same issue. I have tried resetting the remote. Removing and pairing again. No dice. It still shows that the remote has zero charge. Not sure what the issue is.

I want to file a claim with Roku to replace the item but it does not have a serial # and there is no way to file the claim.  The item was purchased on Amazon and will not hold a charge anymore.  I did hold down the pair button for 15 seconds.  All I want is a replacement.  I can provide Roku a copy of the Amazon invoice.  Please help me contact roku to initiate this claim.

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? How long are you charging the remote for? Have you verified the battery charge in Settings > Remote?

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

      Thanks,

My Roku has serial number YL00GG308335.  The Voice Remote Pro is not holding a charge.  I charge it for two hours and it works while connected to the charger.  However, the moment I remove it from the charger, none of the buttons work.  We have another remote (not a Pro). It works fine on the same Roku.  What do we need to do to get this repaired or replaced?

    Hey Nudijoel

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Battery life will vary based on usage. Do you use your remote's private listening feature? This may also be one factor for the battery drain.

Please reply here with the serial number of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be viewed by navigating to Settings > System > About.

    Keep us updated.

    All the best,
    Kariza

      Hello,

I, too, am experiencing a very similar issue. My Voice Remote Pro will not hold a charge any more. I've charged it overnight and immediately once I disconnect the charger, I get the 0% message on my screen. Plugged in, it works fine, but no matter how long I charge it for, it dies once disconnected from power. I do use the Private Listening feature, but again, I give it ample charging time. Here's the info you may need below:

      Remote Model: RC538

      Roku Device Serial: YN00J6901365

      Software is updated.

      Thank you

No I do not use the private listening feature at all ever. The remote continues to die after being fully charged in three to four days. My serial number is YSOOUJ378778.
