Hi,
I am also experiencing a high pitched noise from my remote. The remote does not work. Changing batteries does not help. Please advise.

Please send us the model and the serial number of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be found at the back or underneath the player itself.

i have 2 streaming stick+ that are doing this. it happened 2 days apart. first one quit, replaced the batteries, its started screaming and will not work. Then 2 days later, the other did the same. a bit upsetting, as these are fairly new devices that I now must replace. Ive not had the best track record with Roku devices, they seem to become problematic, as I have had to replace devices in the past due to glitches or lack of response.

I have had this issue multiple times already. I've bought about 4 remotes already and have ended up with the same issue after some time. Everytime i have purchased new batteries and each one will continue to make the same noise and will not work. Each remote that I've gotten will last me several months and then one day it will just stop working and start making the high pitch sound. Im currently experiencing this issue again and I'll probably have to buy yet another remote.

Im having a similar issue. Ive replaced the batteries with brand new ones and no luck. All I hear is a high pitched noise coming from the remote but no button works, even after un-plugging and re-starting the roku.

My remote stopping working. Fresh batteries only produce a high pitched squealing noise. Please help?

My remote is doing the same thing. I put new batteries in it and now it is making a high pitched ringing noise but not working. The batteries work in other remotes. Also, I have tried resetting using the instructions on the help pages. I have also tried using the movile app but it cannot find my device.

I can’t use my remote to get to systems so I looked on the back of the roku.

I got the same problem. Remote stopped working. Replaced the batteries with brand new. Now still doesn’t work and I hear this high pitch buzzing sound when I get my ear close to the remote.

FYI, mine was a total remote failure. I just purchased a new one on Amazon..no issues since

my remote is doing this now too. I was trying to figure out what was making the noise and picked up the remote and sure enough it is like a cracking noise. Took batteries out and it goes away, but next to my bed very annoying. Put batteris back in and starts up again. I suppose I know now why this remote that gets used very little (bedroom TV) eats batteires at least 2-3 times per year needs new ones.
