I have recently installed moca endpoints on a no-longer used stretch of coax in order to transition my Roku Ultra from wireless to wired. However, the Roku cannot use this connection reliably, although other devices can. There is a gig switch at either end of this moca stretch, and while the roku stalls and drops regularly, the laptop moved traffic without interruption. Is there a known issue around Roku over moca that could make sense of this behavior. I have verified that the roku works without issues when it is connected with cat8 directly to the switch.

Review the tips below to fix common network issues for your Roku streaming device.

• Restart your Roku device. To restart your device, you can either unplug the power cable, wait a moment, and then reconnect it, or follow the steps below to restart your device from the Settings menu.
• Restart your router. Refer to the steps below for instructions on restarting your modem or router.

How to restart your streaming device

Use the following steps to restart your streaming device from the Settings menu.

1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote. 
2. Scroll and select Settings.
3. Select System.
4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
5. Select System restart.

How to restart your modem and router

Use the following steps to restart your modem and router.

1. Unplug both your modem and router from power.
2. Wait 10 seconds and then plug them back in.
3. Wait for your modem and router to fully restart.
4. Use a phone, tablet, or computer to confirm the internet connection is working.
5. Test the connection on your Roku device.

Are you trying to use MoCA "adapters" at each end (Roku device and router) or do you have a MoCA "extender" somewhere in the setup.

You should be able to place an adapter at the router and then another adapter at the opposite end near the Roku.  (users have reported success with this method).

Sometimes adding a switch or extender may interrupt this connection. (with the extender, kind of creates a hybrid wired/wireless situation).  A simple, unmanaged switch should be fine though. (managed switched can be hit/miss due to the settings).  Of note too though, it that some users of the 4850 are reporting issues with using just a standard ethernet wired connection, (device not recognizing ethernet) so cannot ignore that this may be causing you an issue as well.
