The remote makes sounds when I try to use it but nothing works on the TV. I have tried restarting the TV yet I am facing the same problem. Please help me.

Setting up the Roku TV and Wi-Fi issues

Jump to solution

Hi @Godwayneee,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We understand you are having trouble updating the software of your Roku TV. We're happy to help.

Please try to restart your Roku TV and router by following the steps below.

To restart your Roku player or Roku TV system, you can either unplug the power cable, wait a moment, and then reconnect it. Or you can use the following steps to restart it from the Settings menu.

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll and select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
  5. Select System restart.

To restart your router, check the instructions from your internet service provider (ISP) or router manufacturer. In some cases, you can simply unplug it and plug it back in, and in other cases it may require pressing a reset button on the device. If you have previously connected to your router, the streaming device should automatically reconnect. If it is not reconnecting, or if you are setting up your device for the first time, complete the network setup process.

For more information and troubleshooting steps, check out this support article on how to fix Roku streaming device update problems.

Please let us know if the issue is fixed or reply to the thread for further assistance, we will be glad to help you.

Best regards,
John
