NBC News app error message:
"Generic player error. Apologies. The stream is not available due to server error."
Took multiple, successive attempts to open app before a blue screen with the message appeared.

We understand that some of you are facing issues with your NBC News channel, and we are here to help you resolve them.
To resolve this issue, we strongly advise following these steps carefully:
- Uninstall the channel by highlighting it, pressing the * button, and selecting "remove".
- Clear cache and data: From the Roku home screen, navigate to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset. Choose "Reset connection" and then proceed to the next step.
- Restart your Roku device by unplugging your TV and then plugging it back in. This step can help clear any temporary cache or data-causing issues.
- Check your internet connection: Ensure that your Roku device is connected to a stable internet connection. You can test your internet connection by going to Settings > Network > Check connection on your Roku device. If your connection is weak or unstable, try restarting your router or contacting your internet service provider for assistance.
- Reinstall the channel by pressing the home button on your Roku remote, scrolling and selecting "Store", and then adding the channel from there.

I still have this problem after trying all the steps. I even bought a brand new Roku box because mine was old. Same problem on a brand new Roku box. NBC clearly is the problem, but I somehow doubt contacting the network is going to be possible. This sucks.

Yes, I concur. NBC is clearly the problem. It is a matter of bandwidth to accommodate amount of customers streaming at anyone time. Double whammy if you have a less than fast internet stream like 4G to 5G. Those who have faster internet capacity can knock you off when trying to access. It has nothing to do with the kind of TV, etc. since only occurs for me on this one ROKU app.

Tried all these steps but nothing works. Only Peacock consistently works

I highly recommend reaching out directly to NBC Customer Support for more advanced troubleshooting steps. Please note that almost all of the channels on Roku are managed, maintained and regulated by the channel itself.
