I am so annoyed I am returning all 3 I bought. IMO these are defective AF. Why pay for an upgrade that doesnt work like any other Roku - the light is SUPER bright and annoying. DONE with this.
If a newer version comes out without this problem, I’ll consider it.
Thanks @RokuJanadeeK
That is one of the things I've already tried. I even broke down and factory reset my device last evening. The only thing that seems to work for me is leaving the screensaver on. I set the start time of the screensaver to be 30 minutes. Once I power down the television, the white light turns off once the screensaver is activated after 30 minutes has passed.
Hi Community users,
Thanks for your feedback about this and we're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
We'll forward this over to the appropriate Roku team for further review.
Thanks,
Rey
All three I bought will not turn off. Screen savers are set to on. Light blazing 24/7.
these new ultra’s seem flawed.
@SandyUT, have you turned off "power saving" under Settings->System->Power? The light should be on unless the screensaver is active or it's in power saving mode, but the latter seems to be flawed. If that doesn't work, there's always a piece of black tape.
To @RokuJanadeeK . You asked me to keep you posted yet closed the thread to additional comments/replies?
So the recommendation is to turnoff the 20 minute power save and the unit will shut off when the TV is turned off. Sounds like a workaround for an engineering failure that does not address with blazing white LED while streaming. I’ve had a Roku since the N1000. Never had any shenanigans like this before.
The standby LED setting can be turned off using the steps below. If a Roku wireless audio device is connected, the setting change will also apply to that device.
