The website says the remote will power-up/power-down the TV. It does not. After a great deal of troubleshooting with multiple agents, they finally told me that the Streambar SE comes with a "Simple Remote" which only controls the device. This is NOT what the website says. I have asked the agent to let management know their website is wrong.
Regular simple IR Roku remotes doesn't have power or volume keys. The Streambar SE remote is IR only remote, but with power and volume keys. These keys are not programmable for different brands of tv, these keys have Roku CEC commands only that never change. You tv has to cec feature with it turned on, many people on purpose turn this feature off. Cec is called different names by different TV brands. The Cec commands are picked up by the Streambar SE, which in turn sends cec signal over hdmi cable to the TV.
You can purchase separately wifi voice remote that can be programmed to control your tv by IR. And of course it will have to be paired to the Streambar SE first.
I was wrong in my last sentence that separately brought remote could be programmed for TV IR by the Streambar SE, it won't. No Roku soundbar or Streambars can be programmed for TV volume IR, only power. What should work if you have a wifi remotes from other Roku devices, have the other Roku's program the Roku remote for the Samsung IR volume, then just pair it to the Streambar SE. The Samsung IR commands should be still programmed in. You have them in your possession already, nothing new to buy.

Hi @MindyinAL,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thank you for reaching out about the Roku Streambar SE's remote. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused in achieving the best experience with your Roku Streambar SE.
To provide additional information, as mentioned by @Tivoburkee in the post above, the Roku Streambar SE includes a Roku remote with TV controls. We recommend enabling CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) or adjusting settings on your TV to enable basic functions such as power and volume control.
Important Note: Disabling CEC will prevent your Streambar remote from turning your TV on/off or using your TV remote to control the Streambar's volume. For assistance with enabling ARC (Audio Return Channel) and CEC on your TV, refer to our detailed guide on How to enable HDMI-CEC and ARC on your TV | Roku
For comprehensive instructions on setting up your Roku Streambar SE, please refer to this link: How to set up your Roku Streambar SE | Official Roku Support
We hope this information helps! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
Best regards,
The Roku Community Team
I own 1 ultra, 2 Ultra LT, 2 Express 4k and all worked with every Samsung TV right out of the box. I bought a Streambar SE and it does not. I read where Roku has included a cheap remote with the Streambar which requires an HDMI-CEC (ARC) connection. I do not have that so I either need to use 2 remotes or return the unit for a refund. You mention in your answer that a different remote could be paired with the Streambar presumably one that works. Can I pair one of my extra ROKU remotes to the Streambar,,,and How do I do that ?????

Thanks Tivoburkee,
I paired my Ultra remote to the Streambar and it seems to work.
Only lost the mute function...:-)
Thanks again.
Opti
One additional note...I paired the Ultra remote to the Streambar and yes it seemed to control the Roku function and turn the TV on and off, but it was a little slow.
I happened to have an extra Express 4K Roku so I paired that remote to the Streambar. Roku downloaded updated software to the Express remote and again it controlled the Steambar a little slower than expected.
Finally, I reverted back to the Streambar remote and it went back to the normal speed.
BTW...I love the sound and picture on the Streambar and it's perfect size for a smaller TV or area like a bedroom.
Thanks again for the help. If nothing else, I learned a lot about the soundbar.
Mindy, Thanks for the info.
I went back to the Express 4K remote and paired it with the Streambar again.
Then I restarted the ROKU, and went through setup.
Since I knew the Express 4K did have power on and off with my Samsung...
I kept pushing the button that asks whether the TV went on or off.
Knowing there are several Samsung codes, I kept trying until it turned off my TV.
Now the ROKU Express 4K turns my Samsung TV on and off and operates The Streambar SE perfectly.
Thanks so much for your help as well as other community members.
BTW, my older TV does not have ARC or CEC so I needed another way to tie them together like previous ROKU devices.
I learned a lot thanks to you all !!!!!
Thanks for keeping us in the loop, @Optikat!
