Roku Streaming sticks are normally used behind the TV where infrared (IR) signals from remotes can't reach. Consequently Streaming Sticks do not even have IR receptors and can ONLY be controlled by Roku remotes that communicate via WiFi. No IR remote, i.e. currently available Roku Players remote (formerly "Simple" remote), Roku TV remote, or universal remote can be used with Roku Streaming Stick models.
Any of Roku's current Voice Remotes are what you need for Streaming Sticks.
