Roku Stick 3820X randomly stops working
I just purchased a Roku Stick 3820X and the remote will allow any button press, but then randomly will stop responding. If you let it sit for a few seconds, usually it will respond again. The usual keys that will stop responding is the up button. When I use the phone app, there is no issue. I can even press up and down a bunch of times quickly, with no issues. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a hardware issue with the remote. I’ve looked around and can’t seem to find anyone with the same issues as me. Any help is appreciated. Already tried factory resets and repairing. Even using the hdmi extender.

Re: Roku Stick 3820X randomly stops working
Also wanted to say that I purchased a remote voice pro 2nd gen to use the lost remote finder and realized that function didn’t work with the stick 4k. This remote functioned without any issues though. Really leaning toward a hardware issue.

Re: Roku Stick 3820X randomly stops working
If the Roku Voice Remote v2 works fine with the 3820 Streaming Stick, then looks like the Voice Remote that came with your device is probably defective/having issues. (intermittent dropping out may be a result of it either failing to "wake" or is losing connection to the private wifi-direct network that is produced by the receiver in the power cable.)
Could certainly take the warranty-claim route (https://support.roku.com/article/208757058) but perhaps @RokuMaryEF , @RokuRiamie-D , or @RokuTakashi can help you out since probably just a remote issue.
----
When you have paired the Roku Voice Remote v2 to your 3820, are you sure you are not able to use the Lost Finder feature under Settings/Remotes/(select the correct remote, ie. Voice Remote v2)/Find Romote.
The Lost Finder feature may not work with your original Voice Remote (because it probably lacks a speaker), but the Voice Remote v2 (which has a speaker) should be able to be used.
