Streaming Stick Not Connected, Remotes stopped working

Saturday 3/22/25 my Streaming Stick whatever model purchased 10/15/24 has flipped to "Not Connected" and will not respond to the remote and is not visible to the Roku app on IOS. It displays the home screen, then goes to screensaver after 30 minutes. My 2020-era Roku 3 also suddenly stopped responding to the remote. Here's what I've already done for diagnosis in concert with an agent online (not the phone) - these are NOT root causes:

* power cycled both devices at least 4 times

* changed the batteries in both remotes

* re- paired the remote (no effect)

* tried the devices in other TVs. No change in behavior. I can't even Airplay cast to the Streaming Stick, but I can to the roku3 box. Neither Google Home nor the Roku app can even detect that the Stick exists. If it won't respond to the remote or the app, I can't get to the settings.

* more not root causes: I have NOT changed / touched / reconfigured ANYTHING about the network, wifi, internet connections, or Google wifi pucks.

So. the Agent put in an order for a new streaming stick, but that's an awfully expensive profit-destroying remedy. So unless Comcast sent out a nasty malware bug in response to me cancelling cable tv recently, I've got to ask:

What did Roku just do to its own software network? I'm skeptical that the new stick will work, unless they're so cheaply made these days that the electronics just fail in 6 months.
