Re: Replacement TV remote with AA batteries

I am confused. The remote @renojim linked to costs $20 and uses AAA batteries. I'm also confused about what kind of batteries you want because you say "AAA batteries, clearly in the subject" but the subject says "AA batteries".

Re: Replacement TV remote with AA batteries

OK, but I don't think any specific brands or models have been mentioned in the thread yet, so any responses are likely to be vague.

@Strega2

Roku is manufacturer of OP's Roku tv. It's not tcl, insignia, or any other named brand, it's Roku. The first generation of Roku branded Roku tvs came with AA battery powered headphone jack Roku remotes. Last released Roku Roku tvs come with rechargeable remotes.

Re: Replacement TV remote with AA batteries

@ukorpete-

I understand the confusion.  For years now a number of  tv manufactureres have licensed Roku's operating system for use in some of their own sets.  These models have built in Roku capabilities without the need for a separate Roku device and are sold as "Roku TVs" under each manufacturer's own brand name ("TLC Roku TV", "Insignia Roku TV", etc.).  When people need help with these, it often is  necessary to determine which manufacturer's "Roku TV" was involved.

More recently Roku themselves started selling Roku TVs, selling them through Best Buy, and confusingly calling them "Roku Brand TVs".   So when you ask about  "Roku TV" instead of "Roku Brand TV", it can lead to the confusion seen in this thread.   I put the blame for this directly on Roku s shoulders for creating this mess.
