Remotes

My original remote was fine except that it gradually refused to recharge. So I bought 2 new remotes to make sure I had one on hand. But both new remotes have the same problem: plug in earphones to the jack and only get sound on the left side.  I've tried multiple sets of earphones, and these same earphones work fine on anything else I use them on.  I also used the same earphones on the original remote and had no issue. Two new remotes, three new sets of earphones and only left side produces sound! I even did the whole process of unplugging the Roku, resetting the router, and plugging it all back in and it WORKED.  For about 5 hours.  Then the sound dropped out of the right side and I was back at square one. Did the reset again, but it didn't work this time on either remote. I did chat with support and they had no answers. This is so frustrating because I live in an apartment and can't really have my TV up as loudly as I would like and I depend on my private listening.  Is there anyone out there who's had this issue and managed to solve it?

Different remotes, multiple headphones, same trouble? Sounds like it's the Roku itself? What model of Roku do you have and how old is it?
