Recent purchase of 2022 4802r roku with rechargable remote, all works great, easy remote pairing with unit.  Another older rokus (roku4 soon to be retired and a 2018 ultra) short distances away, seem to grab certain commands from the new remote and do them.  Both these units have batt. Remotes that are paired and work correctly with their units, and do not interfere with the new roku whatsoever.  I've tried moving the older units further away from the new remote, but it's too powerful.  Interesting that the buttons most able to 'jump' commands to the unpaired rokus are the down arrow, the pause, and the right arrow.  One would think the pairing system to link a remote to a specific unit would not allow what I'm seeing; I thought maybe some older firmware in my roku4 would be wacky, but my newer 2018 4640x ultra does the same thing.  My new 4802r has the newest firmware, 12.0.0 build 4182-c2 and the rechargable remote (rc795) has rtn.4228.  I'm about to buy another 4802x to replace my last old roku4, but now with all this remote hijinks going on, I wonder.  

Any idea what's going on, or is this something that made it through testing and wasn't caught?

The Voice Remote Pro is both an IR remote and an RF remote (Wi-Fi direct).  I don't claim to know exactly when it decides to use IR instead of RF, but I know it does and then it will control any Roku device within sight of the remote.  I have a Streambar and stick connected to the same TV.  If the TV is off, pressing a button on the remote will get picked up by the Streambar and it will turn on the TV via CEC.  The Stick is powered by the USB port on the TV (not recommended, by the way) and once it powers up the remote will automatically pair to the Stick and no longer emit IR commands.  So, my guess would be that the remote is periodically losing its pairing and reverting to IR control.

The remote switches to IR when the power is interrupted, which your tv powering off does to the usb port on your tv, and so anything plugged into it. 🙂

No tv power, none of the other devices (roku4 and 2018 ultra) are powered other than standard power wall warts.  Secondly, they are in other rooms, far beyond any IR control.  So eliminate that from your possibilities.  Just to make sure, and just for fun, I put the roku4 in a drawer and it still responded to certain keys on the new remote in another room (15' away).  Something else is going on, more than ever I believe that the programming of the new rechargeable remote is bad, and was never checked to see if the commands issued by it were somehow being picked up by other (non paired) units.  Btw, I moved the 2018 ultra about 40' away before it 'lost' connection to the new 2022 remote (was also 3+ walls away).

We understand that you're having a problem with the Roku remote since you can't use the power button. We're happy to help. Please follow the steps:

1. Navigate to Settings.
2. Select Remotes and devices.
3. Select Remotes, followed by your remote.
4. Select Set up the remote for TV control.

Tried this several times; appeared to make things better, but exercised the remote controls (particularly the down and right arrows which almost invariably cause the unpaired units to go off on a tangent) so it's not a total 'cure'.  I guess I've got to try and get more new rokus, as some apps are already upon launch coming up with 'upgrade nessesary'.

Re- loaded the firmware into the new rechargable remote using at least the three different schemes listed on the roku web site, several times.  Also ended up doing a factory reset on all three main units (2022 ultra, 2018 roku, and roku4; things started getting much better, finally the last reset of the roku4 seemed to do the trick.  I exercised things for over a day and couldn't get it to do anything like it had been for weeks.  I'll continue to see if it falls back into what it had been doing.  I have another 2022 ultra on it's way, and I'll see if it does anything odd when testing it out.
