My voice remote stopped working. I have changed batteries - no success. I have attempted adding the remote to another Roku system - first attempting pairing through settings-remotes-add devices, then restarting Roku whilst pressing on pairing button - still no success. Does anyone have any suggestions? It’s crazy that a new voice remote is almost the same price as a new 4K roku stick!

Hi, I have attempted all of the troubleshooting steps without success. Does the remote just stop working after a while? Thanks, Keith
Hi @MrMalley,
Thanks for that; I'd like to know if you already pair your remote on your other devices.
If you cannot pair your remote after following the steps outlined on our Support page: Pair your voice remote;
Please provide your Roku device's serial number/device ID if the issue persists. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Anjelie
Hi. I have two roku systems, both roku sticks with voice remotes. the one in the sitting room works with one of the remotes. The second remote will not pair with either roku stick. I can give you the model/serial number for the system (in the sitting room) which is working, but I can’t access that information for the system which doesn’t work. I can’t even link the roku app on my iPhone to the second system, as it isn’t connected to wifi.
thanks, Keith
@MrMalley, if the Stick won't connect to Wi-Fi then it won't connect to the remote either. Is it a model that has a "bump" in the USB cable? What's the model number written on the Stick somewhere? Are the two Sticks identical? If so and if it does have the "bump", try the cable from the working Stick on the non-working Stick.
This happened to us also. Changed the batteries to no avail. Bought a new Roku streaming stick/remote. No dice. Then 3 of the remotes stopped working! I unplugged and replugged devices and nothing helped. I called my router provider and we went into the router settings. She had me set it to 2.4 Gz. That solved everything. When the country updated to 5G it screwed up the connections. Once you re-establish connections with the router on 2.4 Gz, you will have to change the wi-fi connection in the Roku setting to connect to 2.4 Gz. All three of my Roku streaming devices are now working.
