Cinema Box now says that it’s no longer available. I just used it last night. What happened to it? So annoying

I went to watch movies tonight and it was gone. That is now 3 channels lost
Crackle
Redbox
cinema box
There have been threads about that one before. Some think it's just due to being a single man operation and others suggest that it is playing content without permission. (Copyright Whac-A-Mole.)
3 channels lost? I'd say more like hundreds if not thousands over the time Roku has existed. But many channels were created over that time too. I expect that to continue for years - for now, streaming is the wild wild west of TV.

I think it is terrible that you have removed Cinemabox. There were no commercials on this channel and the movies there were ALWAYS there. They never went away.
Roku you get a letter grade of "F" for this.
Roku did not operate Cinema Box any more than your TV manufacturer did. When a channel service shuts down there's nothing Roku can do about it.
Redbox and Crackle, I believe were both owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, who went bankrupt and took a lot of brands and streaming services with it. I can feel your pain as I was a fan of the rental Kiosks of Redbox.
That may be the case for Cinema box as well, especially now as there are a lot of mergers and contraction of streaming services and bankruptcies as a number of these services are finding it hard to be profitable due to the overwhelming competition and cost to maintain and create content.
In addition, as previously mentioned, that doesn't include apps that are playing content that they are not legally entitled to do or have violated copyright laws that get shut down from time to time. I can't say that is true with Cinemabox, although I have read some rumors that may have happened.
As Makalguy stated, Roku has little control over those individual brands/apps it doesn't own, which is the case for the majority of apps on Roku devices.
You could always attempt to contact customer support for Cinemabox directly (instead of Roku) and see if they respond and could provide more specific information for their app being down or unavailable. It may be something as simple as a technical or server issue on their end.
Please bring back Cinema Box for the sake of your older customers who love the old classics that still have meaning like White Christmas and Superfly!
Then your generic response should state that information.
BTW, from what I can see, it is still available online.
I agree. Bring back Cinema Box!
They have a great selection of films from the 60’s and 70’s!
