Remember when it was called "Movie Time" and ROKU removed it...
The author came back with "Cinema Box" with even more movies and features and also re-established "Movie Time" as I had both installed on my ROKU device up until 2 days ago.
Of course ROKU removed both of them caving in to the complaints and pressure from all their big 'pay for' corporate owned apps who are full of greed, and don't want us to be able to view these 40 to 80 year old movies for free....I feel sorry for all the older viewers who are on fixed incomes, in nursing homes, are shut-ins, and/or disabled, etc...who were watching these old movies, on Cinema Box and Movie Time, who can no longer see them for free now, thanks to the corporate greed of ROKU and their rich corporate constituents !!
Typical bull**bleep**e answer... 'Raimie' at ROKU....! QUOTE: "We have checked, and this channel is no longer available on the Roku Streaming Platform. For reference, you can visit our Roku Channel Store website. For more details, we recommend you visit our Roku support website: Why is an app no longer available on my Roku streaming device? Thank you for your understanding. We hope you find this information helpful. Cheers,
Riamie
"F" that noise Raimie...!!! PUT "CINEMA BOX" and "MOVIE TIME" apps back on the ROKU device....!!! NOW !!!
"CINEMA BOX" didn't shut down...!! They were 'shutdown' by ROKU, under the auspices of their greedy streaming corporate constituents, the likes of Prime, Netflix, Disney, Peacock, Sling, Pluto, Vudu/Fandango, etc, etc........!! Wake up fool...!!
Oh man....you sound like you're trying to make an intellectual argument as to the demise of the "Cinema Box" and "Movie Time" apps, however neither one of these were profitable, as neither advertised, charged a subscription fee, or offered any pay-to-view movies, on their app....it was totally "FREE" !!! So they were voluntarily doing this as a free service to much older, fixed income senior audiences, who would be interested in viewing 40 to 80 year old movies....something the major ROKU audience isn't the slightest bit interested in..!!
Don't get WOKE and go BROKE.....Get AWAKE and eat STEAK...!!
TO: JWS9518 get your head out of the sand man.....ROKU has the ultimate power to remove apps from their platform, that their high end streaming constituents don't like..!! "Cinema Box" and "Movie Time" were two of them that rubbed ROKU's greedy partners the wrong way, by offering old movies for free, with no monetary gain, whatsoever....!! It's all about the money....
And again, if they were playing movies still under copyright without permission or royalty payments, then they are BREAKING THE LAW!!!! Stop the corporate conspiracy theories. The LAW is THE LAW. If Roku knows they are pirating content, and does nothing, then Roku could be fined or sued millions of dollars.
Corporations are belt tightening, and there is ever more strict copyright enforcement. On some illegal IPTV services, owners have gone to jail! And companies could even go after users, especially if it is a paid service.
Face it, corporations and rights holders care NOTHING about being nice to anyone. All they care about is MONEY.
I say we demand that Cinema Box be brought back people. We were lied to when they dropped Crackle.
I just watched 2 movies on Crackle today 11/24/24. That was on my Google TV.
ROKU could bring it back & they know it.
Demand that they supply us older generation with real movies and actors not today's **bleep**.
**bleep** there I said it. The Movies and Actors today are **bleep**.
Crackle is liquidating. Yes, bits and pieces work. Crackle is the one who pulled it from Roku because it's unique and they didn't have the money to support it. Even the Android/Google TV version will die as licenses expire and servers shutdown.
You’re lying to us. You have no good alternate options available in the streaming store for these 3 free apps that you have removed. Thank goodness Black Friday is in a couple days! Goodbye Roku TV… hello Google TV!
How would you like it if we all went to your house, ate your food, drive your car, etc and didn't pay you. How would you feel?
That is what you and these apps are doing to the rights holders. You are STEALING and BREAKING THE LAW. You can probably find shady apps and services on Google TV, but you also be more likely to get hacked or have malware installed. Roku is a tightly closed system. Google TV is Android, and has many security holes
