Alexa can't control my TCL Roku TV since I switched to Alexa+

TV is less than a year old. With Alexa, I could control the TV volume, pause whatever was playing, etc. Everything worked fine. Since switching to Alexa+, all I can do with Alexa+ is turn the TV on/off. Can't control anything else. I see that the Alexa skill for Roku been updated in two years so I'm hoping Roku will update the skill soon and correct the problem. Does anyone have any information concerning an updated skill or a work-around to the problem? I've already removed the Roku skill from the Alexa+ app and re-installed it but that had no affect.

  • We have been having all of these problems the past few days. Discovered that our Alexa had upgraded to Alexa+. We had a conversation with Alexa about it. She didn’t offer much help. In frustration I asked to go back to the old Alexa and she asked if we wanted to do that. I said yes, and now old Alexa is back and all of the Roku commands are working again. As a side note, the free versions of some games like Jeopardy and Pointless also wouldn’t work - but now we’re back to our original Alexa, the free version works again.

Having the same trouble. I disabled the Roku skill in Alexa and added it back but no luck. When I try to link the device back to Alexa the page says something went wrong

It seems like random WiFi plugs are stopping. This may be a Alexa issue especially with the new Alexa +   Not sure what direction to go next. Ohh, also WiFi plugs that I reconnected from scratch yesterday and they worked stopped working today?! This is mind blowing.

have done all suggested options troubleshooting with no luck! I even changed out the smart plugs thinking the old plugs went bad but no luck. However. It all seemed to start about the time I got a new Roku sound bar! I don’t know if that could be the reason why but it all seemed to start changing about that time. Groups just won’t work on SOME commands and when I ask Alexa why she says that groups no longer with?  Not sure what or why all this started happening as it worked great not to long ago? Any suggestions other than the suggested ones you get on line would be great
