Bumping this because I'm having the same issue on a TCL Roku TV. Live channel switching on the remote does not work anymore as of updating to Software Version 11.0.0, Build: 4180 as of 4/21/22. I have to either turn off/on the TV or select a live channel using the channel guide for the channel to work properly.
Is there a fix for this or is there a way to roll back to an earlier software version?
Thanks.

Same problem on my TCL series 8 since the update to 11.0.0 - unable to use the remote's up and down arrows to change Live TV channels. I've tried several restarts but not a full reset to fix. Workarounds, such as selecting a new channel off the guide or using voice commands, are cumbersome.

Same - I can access the new live channels within the Roku app when I reinstall it but if I open live TV from by TLC tv it breaks the new stations (this month's) to black screen - including on the app install fix. The rest of the live channels com through fine for me. Would like to access the new channels consistently as they include really great Asian, and British content.
I have the exact same problem on two of my TVs one is the TCL series 4 and the other one is an Onn.
It only happens to live over the air channels. If I'm watching any digital live channels it works just fine but as soon as I go to a live over the air channel and try to arrow up or down I get the blank screen.
The problem started the exact same day. I've done a factory reset on both of them and it did not fix the problem.
Tech support please help us out.. it's getting really annoying hearing everybody in my family yelling at me to fix this...

It's happening with my ONN Roku TV as well after the recent update. I am really hoping they can get this bug fixed soon. However I will resort to going to the channel guide

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts.
If you are experiencing an issue with Live TV showing a black screen and you have already updated your Roku TV to the latest OS 11.0, can you please provide us with the following information so we can investigate further:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
-screenshot of what you is happening on screenOnce we have this information, we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further.
Thanks,

Suddenly started working again for me. Nothing changed on my end. Version 10.5.0, build 4210 shows as up to date.. Unable to update to 11.0.

I’m having the same problem with my 40” Hisense Roku TV. Only thing which seemed to work was to disconnect from WiFi but then I can’t stream other channels. I shouldn’t have to turn the WiFi connection off/on depending on whether I want to watch live tv or stream something. If the latest software upgrade has such a major flaw, how did it get out of the testing stage and why hasn’t Roku already either fixed the problem or undo the upgrade? Such a major flaw in the software should have been found before releasing an update.

I agree, the new update, messed up the quality of sound and glitches in the apps.

Same thing happening for me. I have 2 TCL TVs, started happening on both of them at the exact same time ( a few days ago). One of the TVs is running Roku 11 and the other one is running 10.5 version of the operating system. So it doesn't seem to be version specific.

I am having the Same problem it all started last night I was currently watching something on Netflix and next thing I see there’s no picture but sound, I tried everything I saw online and YouTube and I even try resetting and nothing. When I turn my flashlight from my phone I do see something really faded to pick a language, it doesn’t let me even pick with the remote or the tv buttons @Roku #Roku #TCL #TVTCL

First the bass boost is gone, now I can't access my antenna channels, the arrow won't work to access the channels and its only on that channel I stopped on. Whats going on with roku? This new update sucks. Why is this happening?

Thanks for the post.
Have you already tried to first replace the batteries in your remote to rule out that possibility? What are the steps to reproduce the issue? Are you making sure to point your remote to the IR sensor on the TV?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,

It's insulting to even suggest replacing batteries in the remote. There is obviously some glitch in at least one of the Roku updates that is causing so many people to have this issue. It happens sporadically, and sometimes just unplugging the TV and roku for a minute, then plugging back in temporarily resolves the issue. Sometimes it takes days to resolve. I had it happen for one hour two Saturdays ago, and it resolved itself without me realizing it. Sometimes you get no audio, just video; sometimes you get audio and no video; sometimes you have to change the channel using the arrows, turn the tv off, then back on to go to the channel you want. It is very annoying when it occurs

It's been a few days now that only one channel (44.1) just started displaying a black screen. The channel info says I have full strength and it also displays the current show that is playing and a full description of the show. The channel guide even shows the thumbnail image of the current show running.
The other channel 4.1 works fine.- ANDYPROFANEReel Rookie
My Roku channels are intermittently black-screen. Some channels work and others do not. The menu shows what's supposed to be playing, but clicking to select the channel and everything is black. Sometimes clicking "back" and "back" again will display the channel, and sometimes hitting the arrow keys up and down will finally display the channel, but some channels will never display and only show black. This just started happening recently. All was well until about a month ago. No settings or cables were changed or moved. What happened???
- MacsOpinionReel Rookie
This happened to me a few times already. And it actually happened again today. What you need to do is go into settings and search for channels again. I know it’s a pain in the **bleep**, but I guess it’s because networks change their signal once in a while. This is not a Roku problem is the TV Netwerk changing their settings on their end.
