Here's what you can do:

  1. Restart Everything: Turn off your Roku, router, and modem. Wait a minute, then power them back on in the order: modem, router, Roku. This can clear temporary issues.
  2. Check Network Settings: Go to Settings > Network on your Roku and confirm you're connected to the right Wi-Fi network with the correct password you can check here.
  3. Improve Wi-Fi Signal: If distance is an issue, consider using a Wi-Fi extender to boost the signal strength near your Roku.
  4. Update Roku Software: Outdated software can cause connection problems. Go to Settings > System > System update to check for updates.
  5. Reset Roku (Last Resort): If nothing works, try a factory reset. This will erase all your data and settings, so be sure to have your Wi-Fi credentials handy. Go to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset. Check pixel Growth

@Dooley33 are you using WiFi or a wired connection? Or are you referring to the Roku not being displayed on your TV?

Roku players go into a sleep mode when not in use. Pressing the home button on the remote simply "wakes" the device up. That's completely normal operation. If that's all you have to do to get your Roku displayed on the TV, there's nothing wrong, it's working as designed.

I rebooted both my internet router and Roku and it seems to be working.  I hope I do not have to reboot often because that's the reason I upgraded from the express to the ultra due to having to reboot Roku often and having a lot of buffering issues even though my router is 4 ft away from my Roku device. Thank you for all the feedback.

Re: Roku Ultra not staying connected

@Dooley33 you never clarified how your Roku was not "connected". Are you referring to its network connection, or viewing the Roku on your TV display? Your mention of pressing the Home button to "reconnect" the Roku sounds like the video feed to the display, not the network connection.

If you're not referring to the network connection, then the steps you followed did nothing to resolve your issue, and it's more likely it's what I referenced in my earlier post.

@Dooley33-

Assuming this is a Roku device connected to a TV, not a Roku TV that has Roku capabilities built in...

If your Roku has a "Settings > System > Power > Auto power savings > After 20 minutes of no interaction" setting, try disabling it.
