There are two ways to do a factory reset. One is within the Roku Settings menu, while the other is to find the recessed button somewhere on the back or bottom of your Roku player and hold that button in for a minimum of 30 seconds. Not one second less.
Remember that a factory reset removes all personal information from your Roku. It is no longer linked to your account, and if you wish to use it again it must be set up from the beginning. If you are giving the Roku away, or otherwise disposing of it, make sure you log into your Roku user account and remove the device from there as well. It doesn't mean someone can access your account if you don't, but it keeps your records clean.
