Since there seems to be no forum for discussions about the community itself (at least those regular users can post in), I guess this is the best I can find, as it is a "feature" of the community.
It's become obvious that spam is getting extreme. It seems as if this Khoros-based software/service should have the ability to limit new users to no more than 1 or 2 new posts. That should help minimize it. Further, it would be helpful if it has the ability to prevent subjects that look like web links.
Yeah, they had it controlled for a while. But I just marked almost 3 dozen as spam, and did another 20 or so yesterday. There does seem to be some way those creeps have found to make mass postings. I imagine that the hackers are constantly looking for ways through the security settings.
On top of all of the spam, there are accounts that are putting the spam in their profile description, such as this one. below. The description in the profile gives some kind of ad for what I presume is a fake phone number for Expedia, that I presume is designed to show up in searches. However, I don't see a way to specifically report this fake profile. (see below, Expedianumber profile). There needs to be a way to block these account profiles and accounts from accessing the site.
Moderators can you do something with this profile below?
Here is another one, advertising some site in its profile.
The Roku Streaming Experts can flag a post if it has spam, and those are put into quarantine, but we can't do anything about the user account itself. Hopefully one of the Roku moderators can block those users.
