Typically, replacing the batteries and/or restarting the device should help clear up these types of issues. You'll also want to make sure your remote has a clear line of sight to your Roku device, if it uses an IR remote. (As a side note, if you are trying to use a different Roku remote that wasn't originally sold with your device, it may not be compatible depending on the models of device and remote.)

Thanks for the inquiry.
It seems like your remote isn't pairing to the Roku streaming stick.
For information on how to pair your remote to your device visit our Support page here: How do I set up my Roku® enhanced "point-anywhere" remote?

I have the same problem. I get to the select language screen and the remote does not trigger ROKU to continue with the set up. I recently purchase the ROKU device at Wal~Mart. Could use your advice. Thanks.

This worked for me, My older Roku connected itself to the new remote so it would not work with the new
Roku player. On your home screen scroll down to settings, in settings scroll to 'remote' to see if more
than one was listed, if so delete one. I picked the one that didn't have a check mark,
Hope this helps
