New Roku stick Black and White screen

Jump to solution

My TV started displaying b&w.  Changed HDMI ports.  Still the same.  Just got a new stick in the mail.  Now it's still happening.  Changed ports again.  My TV is a vizio - could it be the TV? I only have one TV, I don't think I can test it using my laptop.  HELP?

Re: New Roku stick Black and White screen

Jump to solution

Hi @juliB2024,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thank you for informing us that your Roku device is showing a black-and-white screen, even with your new Roku Streaming Stick. We are more than willing to take a closer look at this issue.

We recommend following these steps:

  1. Unplug the Roku device from the Vizio TV.
  2. Turn the Vizio TV off, then turn it back on without the Roku device connected.
  3. Check the TV screen to see if it displays a black-and-white screen.

If it does show a black-and-white screen, you should contact your TV manufacturer. If it does not, please let us know.

Please keep us posted.

Regards,
Riamie
