Hi folks,
My LG TV is: 4K UHD
When I initially set up my Roku Express 4K+, I received a warning that 4K HDR10 was not available, because my TV was only capable of 30fps. I changed a setting in TV to on (HDMI Deep Color) and then it was an available.
The Roku now says “Automatic (4K HDR10)” is available and it’s set to that. Yesterday I was streaming in Fubo, exited to Menu and received a warning that display type couldn’t be found or something like that. I set it again and no issues since.
Is this the correct display type I’m using? Does Roku automatically detect it correctly or should I chose any of the other two manual settings for my TV? (4K HDR TV or 4K TV)
I’ve been watching this morning without the issue popping up again.
Thank you!
Hi @scjr,
Greetings from the Roku Community!
We appreciate you letting us know about the issue that you are experiencing with the display with Roku. To successfully stream 4K Ultra HD (4K) or High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, all devices connected via HDMI to your compatible Roku streaming player must support HDCP 2.2. This includes your TV, an audio/video receiver (AVR), and any other devices connected in between. If even one device does not support HDCP 2.2, then the 4K or HDR movie or TV show can only be viewed in a lower resolution, such as 720p or 1080p. You can check out more details here. You can also learn here about the other requirements for streaming 4K or HDR. Lastly, please check out this support article for more details on how to change the display refresh rate to match the native format of each movie, video, or TV show.
We hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Eunice
Hi @ArnieDavidson,
Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!
We understand you are having trouble setting up your device's display type to 4K DDR10. To successfully stream 4K Ultra HD or High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, all devices connected via HDMI to your compatible Roku streaming player must support HDCP 2.2. I have the same display issue, both TV and Receiver handle 4k Dolby vision HDR10 at 60fps. It tells me it won't work and always does. Specifically selected equipment to have Dobly Vision
What's worse is that upon restarts it reverts my display back to HD HDR10 when it's not set to Automatic
I need a solution, even if it's disabling the auto selection on a restart.
