Will the 4K streaming stick control the volume on a samsung un4eh5300f. It will turn the TV of, but the volume I can’t figure out. Thanks
Hello! @Timry2,
Thanks for the updates,
We appreciate your cooperation in trying to implement the suggestion mentioned earlier.
There are two ways your Roku voice remote can send commands to your TV.
Sometimes, the power and volume buttons on your remote might only work intermittently. This typically happens when your remote uses IR to send commands to your TV. To confirm if this is the case, first, check if you can adjust the volume when pointing your remote directly at your TV. Then, cover the front of your remote with your hand, point it away from your TV, and try adjusting the volume again. If the volume doesn't change during this test, it means your remote is using IR.
You can use the steps below to get your remote to switch to using CEC.
Not all TV models support CEC, and some may only support power and not volume. Consult your TV manual for more information.
Thanks,
Arjiemar
Welcome, and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, @Timry2!
Rest assured that we will help you control your TV's power and volume.
Firstly, can you control your Samsung TV's power and volume using your TV remote? If not, you may want to consider your TV's IR.
Nevertheless, it is possible that the code programmed into your voice remote when you heard the music stop only contains commands to control either power or volume, but not both. Using a different code for the TV brand may work to maintain both power and volume.
To have your Roku device try additional remote codes, restart the TV controls setup process for your voice remote and alter the steps as follows:
For reference, you may visit our support article, which is dedicated to this question: Why is my Roku® voice remote not controlling power and volume on my TV?
Keep us posted on how it goes!

Thanks for the fast reply. When programming the remote, the music never stops so it never completes the program sequence. I tried all 50 codes and none stopped the music. However, i can turn off the TV using the onscreen turn off tv icon. Not sure if the two are related.
thanks again
@Timry2 If your Samsung has CEC (Samsung calls it Anynet+) turn that on in the TV menu. Then go to the Roku device and enable one touch control in the settings. That may or may not work to control the volume and power on/off.
I gave that a shot and the volume still didn’t turn off. Still heard the music
