I am considering a new Roku Ultra (4800 series) which now comes with a rechargeable remote and a USB charging cable -- but of course no charger. The Ultra has a USB port, which I don't plan to use for data. Can I use that USB port to charge the remote or will I need to buy a charger for the USB remote charging cable to plug into? If the latter what is the wattage requirement for charging the remote
Hi @lp17,
Thank you for this inquiry!
Please note that the Roku Ultra does not function as a power source for the remote. We must utilize the USB cable in the box and an adaptor to charge your voice remote directly from a power outlet. Using the Roku Ultra as a charging port might damage the device internally and may cause overheating.
Let us know if there's anything else you'd like some assistance with, and we'd be happy to help.

Hi @lp17,
Welcome, and thank you for posting here at the Roku Community!
Please be advised that in charging your Roku voice remote pro, you must utilize the USB charging cable provided in the box and any standard USB power adaptor.
To charge it, connect the small, micro-USB end of the USB charging cable to the charging port on your remote, and connect the other end to a standard USB power adapter (like the one you use to charge your smartphone).
To learn more about the functionality of your remote, you can browse this article: Troubleshoot your rechargeable voice remote.
Let us know what you find out, and we'd be happy to assist further.
Warm regards,
Janadee
Thank you for the response. But I am unclear about your answer. You say I should use a standard USB charger. I know a standard charger would work. But my question was, "can I use the USB port on the Ultra to charge the remote?" Most USB ports provide some amount of power so I was wondering if the USB port on the Ultra would work for charging the remote. That would be a convenience, requiring one less electric outlet in my media cabinet. You didn't specifically say I can't so I am unsure if you caught the full meaning of my question. Please clarify. Thx.

Thank you for the clarification.
Stop using micro usb! It’s a garbage port.
Can the USB port on the Roku Hub be used for Blue ToothTransmitter for Headphones?
Can the USB Port on the Ultra Hub be used for a Blue Tooth transmitter to connect to Headphones?
Hi @JimSchiesser,
A warm welcome here in the Roku Community, and thanks for the inquiry!
Please be advised that Roku Ultra models 4670, 4661, 4660, and 4640 and Roku Ultra LT models 4662 are incompatible. A Bluetooth device can be connected directly to a Roku Plus Series TV. If you have any other Roku TV system, you must pair Roku Wireless Speakers or a Roku TV Wireless Soundbar to add Bluetooth capability to your TV.

I was looking at the pdf setup for the ultra and it shows using the usb port for charging, and a power adapter in the wall.
Because someone could buy an ultra and not know about this forum, and use the usb port for charging and possibly damage it.
Thanks
