Voice Remote Won't Search

Jump to solution

While pressing and holding the voice button to perform a search, it records for a split second then immediately displays the informational "tips and tricks" voice search menu but will not perform the requested search. It will do this 2-3 times consecutively, then it will lockout and pressing and holding the search button will not work at all. At this point, after a 5-10 second wait, pressing and holding the voice button will work normally and perform the search as requested.

I've reset, re-paired, restored, updated, etc. and nothing has helped.

I'm using the Roku Ultra with rechargeable voice remote.

Hi @Bearerofbadnewz,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that you're having a problem with the Roku remote. We're happy to help. Please be advised that you can still use your voice to search for and control your Roku device. Simply press and hold the voice button, and without using "Hey Roku", say a command like "search for comedies", "turn it up", or "play classic rock on Pandora". For additional details, find out how to use push-to-talk search and control or learn about the various voice commands you can use.

If the problem still persists, please keep us posted.

All the best,

John
