I have been researching this issue online. I have come to the conclusion that remotes are faulty. The Ruko Moderators do 2 things. There are 100s of post regarding this issue with no resolution.
1. They ask for your ruko model. To give the impression they can diagnosis the issue. Then,
2. They provide you instructions on how to connect your all of there different remotes to a Roku device. As if you just opened the box to install Roku.
They fail to diagnose the issue which not connecting the remote. It’s the remote constantly DISCONNECTING while you are using it. It makes navigating an experience.
So maybe answer why it disconnects? Is there a better remote we should purchase? Is there a firmware update? Or is it just a poorly designed device that Roku cannot admit because there are afraid of the financial impact. I think it’s the latter at this point.
I really like the product. I have 2 Roku tvs and 2 sticks. But the remote are a pain. I constantly have to take the battery out. The battery icon will display red and then display green seconds later. As it auto reconnects. Could it be multiple remotes in the house? I don’t think so. But maybe. Would love to see this issue officially addressed by Roku.

Hello! @Humber,
Thank you for your post in the Roku Community!
We understand the importance of having a functional remote while using our Roku device. Don't worry. We can help you with that!
Remote issues vary depending on the type of Roku remote. Before you begin troubleshooting, first determine which type of remote you use with your Roku streaming device: a Roku simple remote or a Roku voice remote.
All Roku voice remotes have a voice button located near the purple directional pad. The button has either a microphone or a magnifying glass icon.
If your remote has a voice button, you have a Roku voice remote. If it does not, you have a Roku simple remote.
After you've figured out what Roku remote you have, visit the article for your specific remote.
