I have a Roku Stick that I use on a Phillips smart tv. Does anyone know if I can use my Roku remote to access the various HDMI inputs, or do I still need to do that manually, as the original remote for the Phillips TV no longer works. Thanks.
Google Play Store has a number of Philips TV remote control apps you can use on an Android phone or tablet. I expect the Apple App Store does as well.
Replacement physical Philips TV remotes are available from numerous sources, as are inexpensive universal remotes that can control Philips TVs.
Further, although the Roku remote cannot change the TV's HDMI setting directly, if the TV supports CEC (Consumer Electronics Control via HDMI) you may be able to get the TV to switch itself to the appropriate HDMI port when you press a key on the remote for an HDMI-connected device.
You may need to enable CEC in the TV and any connected devices. Unfortunately many manufacturers use their own names for the CEC function instead of calling it CEC. Roku calls it 1-touch play; Philips calls it EasyLink. Other manufacturers' names can be found here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control#Trade_names_for_CEC_technology
Sorry, but it will only control the tv volume and power. No inputs.
