Re: Roku Remote ok button stopped working

A warm welcome here in the Roku Community, @norameehan!

Thank you for letting us know about the OK button on your Roku remote not working. We'd be happy to help you find the best resolution for this.

We'd like to assess your concern better so we can find you the best resolution possible. With this being said, kindly provide us with the following details:

  • Is this the remote that comes with your Roku player or was this purchased separately?
  • Serial number of the Roku player this remote was connected to.
  • When did you initially observe this happening?

In the meantime, please reset your remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. Then pair it again and try using the OK button to see if it works after resetting.

Your response is highly anticipated.

Best regards,
Carly

Re: Roku Remote ok button stopped working

I’m having a similar problem.  Though when I press the Ok button, it moves to the next item. For example, if I am on the Home Screen & trying to select Hulu, it would move over to Paramount. (See attached pic).
BUT, it doesn’t do it all the time! I have had no problems with it today from 7:00 AM - approximately 2:00 PM.  And it works fine on the side menu. However, it also doesn’t work when trying to type to search.

In response to your questions for the original poster:

* TCL Roku Tv

* original remote

* first noticed it last night.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Re: Roku Remote ok button stopped working

I am having the same problem with my Roku ok button. I have changed the batteries - did a re pairing 2x ( home plus back) plugged and unplugged from power source. This is quite a new system and this is the remote it came with. Model3941x2

  • When and where did you purchase this?

Re: Roku Remote ok button stopped working

Hello,
I have a « simple remote » that came with the device. It has always worked fine.

it stopped working all of a sudden a week ago.
Sometimes I get the Roku home screen, but I can’t select any app.

Sometimes the home button doesn’t get any response at all

i tried changing the batteries, unplugging from the wall and waiting 20 seconds, pressing home and back buttons together… nothing !

what is the problem ?
Hoping you can help !
Jocelyne (Cross)
