My remote does not support private listening. I looked at the link you gave and it does not provide any solution for my battery drain issue. My remote works perfectly fine functionality wise, its just that it is going through batteries at an alarming rate.
Hi @winger,
Welcome to the Roku Community.
We're glad you are here so we can best assist you. We apologize to hear about the battery drain issue on your Roku remote. May we ask what troubleshooting steps have you already taken to try to resolve the issue? When did you normally change your battery?
Please let us know the details along with the serial number of your Roku device paired to your Roku remote, to get this go to Settings > System > About.

Agree, we all need and deserve more from Roku!
Perhaps a Roku-using plaintiff specialist would like to lead us all in a massive class action. It's ridiculous that Roku is acting like this issue is one off and not the wide spanning problem that is obviously is.
Has anyone experiencing this problem worked with Roku support and actually solved the problem?
Same exact thing happening to us!! Have two Roku streaming sticks bought earlier this year and dealing with this now almost daily!!
Hi @StreamingFam,
Greetings and welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for providing details about the concern you have with the Roku remote battery drain issue. May we know what specific Roku remote you're having issues with? Additionally, how often do you replace the batteries on your remote per week, or a month?
Please keep us posted.
All the best,
Kash
Hello! It’s the voice command Roku remote that came with the Roku streaming stick 4K. Here are the numbers inside of the remote:
RF342B-T7-03 1-2
At this point I am not sure it’s the remote becaus even after replacing batteries sometimes the Roku will stay frozen. Here is what I posted on reply to someone else having the same freezing problems:
“Happening to me too for past few months with both my streaming Roku sticks. I kept thinking it was the batteries on the remote (so kept putting new ones). But that wasn’t it…wasted a lot of good batteries 🤦🏻♀️. The only thing that works (most of the time) is unplugging the Roku stick from the outlet, waiting about a minute and plugging back in. But lately even that has been failing at times.
i searched the Roku community and looks like it is an issue with many peoples Roku devices. They really should fix it or recall them and send us ones that work!
I saw one guy post and say that doing a “factory reset” set him to the newest Roku update. (Before doing the factory reset, his Roku said he had the latest version but it was not. ) so I may try that next.”
Thanks for the added information, @StreamingFam.
We completely understand your input. Please be aware that your concern has already been escalated to our Support team. Kindly keep an eye out on your inbox as they will reach you there.
