After my dog chewed the remote that came with my Roku 3920x, I bought what I thought was a replacement for it the remote RC280, but I can't seem to get it to work.  Is that remote not compatible with my Roku? What remote models are?

When I google that part number, I get third-party remotes that claim to control TCL Roku TVs.  Roku players and Roku TVs use different codes (which makes it easy to connect a Roku player to a Roku TV, if you wish) and different TV manufacturers use different codes as well.

Roku’s own remotes will work, of course, as well as third party remotes that control players.  For example, here’s one I searched up on Amazon.  (Never tried it myself but it should work.)

Do you know why the remote I bought the RC280 didn’t work?  Also when I went to the link and looked under the single option it had a picture of all the Roku models those remotes are compatible with and it did not list my 3920X. But it would still be compatible?

The RC280 is for a TCL Roku TV.  Those use different IR codes than Roku players.

The 3920 can be used with the Roku Simple Remote (IR only) or the Voice Remote (WiFi Direct). I have the 3920 myself. It came with the IR remote but I bought a Voice Remote to use on it instead.
