My Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd ed) is also only about 6 months old and the navigation and power buttons don't always work. Pressing the button real hard sometimes make them work, but not in all attempts. Really disappointed with this remote. I never has any problems with any of the other remotes I have (about 6 of them). I didn't find any Help articles that were useful. Appreciate some help with this remote.

Tried the reset, did not help.
@tghedlin. I don't know why, but Roku is only ever interested in the serial number of the Roku streaming device, not the remote's serial number. You can find it under Settings->System->About.
Serial number of the streaming device is X01700X215NC

This is a known problem that Roku has not addressed. It's due to the low quality of their remotes with a power button and volume controls. I'm on my 3rd remote in just over a year. The right button and down buttons only work if I mash them so hard that my thumb hurts. Now that I'm out of warranty I have to pay $30 for a replacement.

I have a handheld Roku voice remote for players without a pairing button. I have replaced the batteries.
I can be assisted by having Roku mail me another replacement remote. Preferably one that will last longer than 6 months.
