Hi, @OldTimer1 @JRMull88. Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your Roku remote issue and the troubleshooting you've done. Resetting your Roku should definitely help with this issue. We highly recommend trying the following steps.
Reset your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again.
- If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
- If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home for 20 seconds.

Re: My Roku remote makes my speakers sound like a microphone
Hey I'm an old guy myself and I did the exact same thing. This was right in the middle of a sporting event I was enjoying and it just made everything miserable. And yet it was a simple fix. I'm a lost cause when it comes to technical issues, like rebooting, uploading, downloading. And that's easy stuff. So, here is how I freed myself of this stress cloud hanging over me. Reset your Roku! I felt kind of dumb after that one. But that did it.
