Heads up on Roku 1st gen rechargeable remotes locking up

I have 2 of these and I’ve noticed over the last year they lock up and won’t respond every couple days. You can plug them in and out of the charger and they start working again , has anyone’s else noticed this or did I just happen to get 2 that do this if it’s across the board it would be great if Roku could address the issue.

We appreciate your patience and understand that you are experiencing issues with your Roku remote not responding. Please rest assured that we are here to assist you in resolving this matter.

We highly suggest resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again and check if it makes any difference. 

We also recommend following our troubleshooting steps to assist you in resolving these remote issues:
This should resolve the issue you are experiencing; however, if it is still unresolved, please reply, and we will be able to assist you further.
