I did not see anything current on Reddit. But I have reported this to Youtube.TV feedback. Recommend everyone reports this in that manner. Probably is a YouTube problem more than Roku.

Hey Roku Community,
We’re aware that some users are experiencing an issue with YouTube TV where fast forwarding causes the channel to freeze.
UPDATE (9/5): We’ve identified the problem and are working on a fix, which will be included in a future update.
Thank you for your patience, and we’ll keep you posted!
Best regards,
The Roku Community Team
This thread mentions that the problem with YouTube freezing will be fixed in a "future: update -
My Roku model is 4670X - Roku Ultra
Software version 13.1.4 build 1512-46
When I attempt a manual software update it says that the last update was on 7/15/24 and that ALL SOFTWARE IS UP TO DATE.
The bug with YouTube TV is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. So many times I haven't been able to watch an enire program because I was fowarding and froze it up. There is nothing you can do but exit out of the channel. When will this be fixed and is my model going to get the fix?
Thanks.
Welcome, @mario595.
Thanks for sharing it here in the Roku Community!
We appreciate you informing us that you're also experiencing this. We'd be glad to pass this over to the appropriate Roku team for review.

I have the same problem. My family friends also have the same problem with 500 Mbps wifi in the same room. We have the problem with several recorded shows (Fox News, KODA and JENNAD
We have been putting up with this problem for at least a year and Roku doesn't seem to be placing the right urgency on this problem. Our entire family is probably going to replace Roku with something else---we cqn't wait any longer.
I have not had this problem in a couple years. Make sure you have updated the application.
Welcome to the Roku Community, @kathygj!
Thanks for sharing this with us. We'd be happy to provide further information and help you contact the right support.
Since this is an isolated case involving the YouTube TV app exclusively, we strongly advise that you contact their Support team for further assistance and clarification.
Please be advised that the majority of content on the Roku platform comes from streaming channels maintained and updated independently by the channel's provider. You may reach them here: YouTube Support
In the meantime, you may try troubleshooting this app by following the steps provided below:

We hope this will be sorted out soon.

This problem has been going on since June for Roku Ultra owners. There is even a thread where the issue has been listed as "will be solved in a future update":
But yes, this is limited to YouTube TV, and you can workaround it by either not using fast forward or changing the resolution after it freezes. And wait for it to officially get fixed. The other thread didn't really make it clear whose issue this really is... seems like a YouTube TV issue, not a Roku issue.
"We have been putting up with this problem for at least a year and Roku doesn't seem to be placing the right urgency on this problem. Our entire family is probably going to replace Roku with something else---we cqn't wait any longer."
Yes, abandoning your Roku or YouTube TV will immediately eliminate this issue. I will note that the DirecTV Stream app doesn't have this issue on my Roku Ultra, but the YouTube TV app has had this issue for months, and in my eyes is completely unusable.
