So I'm shocked that this isn't asked more often. But is there any update that certain Roku models, the YouTube app no longer has the playback speed setting? My Roku bar has it. My Roku ultra had it a few years ago but not anymore. Is there word from Google about this? From Roku?

Yep, totally sucks. Cmon Google, get this fixed, it’s basic functionality.

it’s very simple, the YouTube app on Roku does not have the setting for controlling the playback speed of the video. The playback speed setting is available on every other smart tv and app for YouTube that I’ve ever used and it’s maddening that the Roku app for YouTube does not have this basic functionality.
Even worse, from other posts its seems that this functionality was available in the past and was removed.
Please forward a request to your programmers to restore the playback speed functionality on the YouTube app.
Thanks!
We understand your frustrations, @BlueGiant.
As mentioned, regarding the app or channel's functionality, we recommend that you reach out to YouTube's support directly and inquire further as to why this feature is no longer available in their app on the Roku platform; they may be able to provide initial assistance. No worries, we'll also let our team know about this concern for review.
Let us know what you find out.
Regards,
Janadee
Thank you. It’s pretty obvious that the person in your organization that manages the relationship with Google has way more influence with them than I do. Letting them know that they should raise this issue with Google is probably the best option for getting this resolved and supporting your user base.
